FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Timmy Maia to Entertain at Mattatuck Museum’s March First Thursday February 21, 2008 Waterbury, CT….March’s First Thursday at the Mattatuck Museum will feature Timmy Maia, the incomparable singer whose soft, melodic voice has rocketed him to national recognition. Maia’s performance at the museum’s First Thursday in February was such a resounding success that, to the delight of attendees, he agreed to perform again. He thrives on the energy of a live audience and his audience responds with equal enthusiasm. A Waterbury native, Timmy has been singing since he was a toddler. As a teenager he began honing his skills as a member of a Gospel Quartet and in various local clubs. His upbeat mellow sound and charismatic stage presence have won him a national following. Timmy has been a staff singer for Sony Records, had an original composition on "90210," and a music video on BET T.V. Timmy's vast studio experience has found him in recording studios all over the country. He is currently completing his second CD of original music. Besides local venues, he has opened for the likes of Freddie Jackson, Phyllis Hyman and Brian McKnight, just to name a few. Timmy and Bock & Blu keyboardist Jay Rowe have been working together on various projects since 1998, and Timmy became a full time member of Bock & Blu in 2002. First Thursday is a fun, after-hours event that is a great way to meet up with friends, network with business associates, and enjoy live music. March’s First Thursday will be held at the Mattatuck Museum on March 6, 2008 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Admission is $7 for museum members and $15 for non-members.
